Annual subscriptions cancellation

This is a reminder that your annual Control Group Associate Subscription is due to expire soon. Your subscription will no longer renew automatically – and you need to take action to renew it if you wish to remain an Associate member of the Control Group and continue support our important research.

Click the cog-shaped icon in the top right corner of the menu bar to go to Account Settings
Click the Manage Subscription / Billing link to go to your subscription and billing information
In the Stripe subscription management screen, you will see a Renew plan button – click this to ensure your subscription continues, you will also find options to change your payment card details if required.

Payments should show up in your statement under the payee name ‘CG Coop’ – unless your bank change it to make us sound like a gambling organisation – yes, this has happened!

Why is my subscription expiring?

The number of payment disputes raised has triggered our payment provider Stripe to issue a warning to us if we don’t take action to reduce them.
Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to disable the auto-renew on all annual subscriptions in order to stop any potential disputes.
From now on, if you have an annual (rather than monthly or quarterly) subscription with us, we will require you to login and confirm the renewal manually to avoid cancellation.

What are disputes?

A payment dispute is raised when a payee tells a payment provider that they do not agree with a payment that has been taken from them; this may be because the payee does not recognise who the payment is going to, or does not remember the subscription payment they set up. Stripe charge $50 per dispute if the dispute threshold is breached and a review fee of $25,000, prior to complete cancellation.

The generosity of Associate members – like you! – is the sole reason the Control Group is able to continue our independent research into the safety of efficacy of COVID vaccines, and have supported people around the world in their time of need. I do hope you will continue to support the Control Group.
If you do wish to cancel your annual subscription, you do not need to take any action as the subscription will expire automatically. I apologise for any inconvenience caused but, this is was an essential decision we had to make to safeguard this project.
