Ready for the next pandemic
When we founded the Control Group in July 2021, it was already quite a few months into the COVID pandemic era, and as such, we missed the beginning of it and vital data that could have been incredibly informative.
With a potential Bird flu pandemic being discussed in mainstream media, along with a corresponding vaccine, we want you to know that we will be capturing health data from the very start – although, like all of you, we are incredibly hopeful that we never have to go through another pandemic era again. But, if we do, we are here to support our participants in their right to body autonomy.
The European Vaccination Card (EVC)S
The European Vaccination Card (EVC) is about to begin its pilot in a number of countries. – What does that mean for those of us who have chosen either; not to get the COVID vaccination, to not get any more COVID vaccinations, or not get any other vaccinations?
Whilst the Control Group cannot make medical or legal recommendations, we do hope that the growing number of people who choose to exercise their right to body autonomy, believe in fully informed consent, and a health system unbiased by fiscal greed, will stand up and be visible! This is the purpose of our study card and its strength is in its ability to bring people from around the world together and visually demonstrate our personal decisions about our own health.
Many of our participants tell us they feel more confident when they have the Control Group card. Now is the time to encourage everyone who believes in the freedom to choose how to be healthy to be visible, be vocal and be the change!
SYSTEM UPDATES AND IMPROVEMENTS
‘Resources’ changed to ‘Documents’
When you log into your Control Group account, the menu item RESOURCES has now changed to DOCUMENTS, which we feel better explains what is there! Your ‘Documents’ are all the personalised participation certificates and letters available for you to uses. They are signed by the Control Group and support your right to choose how you live your life.
Need your own account?
Things change, kids become adults and people move on – there are many reasons why you may wish to be removed from your family Control Group account into an account of your very own. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been possible – until now!
So, if you, or a family member would like to be transferred to a brand-new account of your own, we can now do this for you. To arrange a transfer, email support@controlgroup.coop from your existing account email address, with the subject line TRANSFER.
Emergency Information now downloadable
The advanced medical choices you have made in your account under Emergency Information, which display when your Health Card QR code is scanned, are now available to download as a printable document.
The printable document has a section for you and a witness to sign, which may help to strengthen your position, should you need it. We recommend you give a copy to your listed emergency contact.
To download:
- Log into your account
- Go to your Health Record
- Click on Emergency Information
- Click the grey DOWNLOAD button
Please note that if you make any changes to your choices, your digital page from the QR code will update immediately, but you will need to reprint your document.
New Participant letter for COVID vaccinated
Participants who have had any number of COVID vaccinations now have their own participation letter. It is currently in English, with Spanish, Finnish, French, German and Romanian to come very shortly – thanks to our wonderful volunteer translators!

Whilst the Control Group will not promote products such as medicines and supplements because it could be deemed as promoting a financial bias, we do feel it is appropriate to support other members of the wider community by bringing attention to the services they offer and events that may be of interest.
