WCH Detox & Wellbeing Study

The World Council for Health has collaborated with the Control Group to launch a pioneering study into the success of detox protocols

Starting your detox

What detoxes are the best for your health needs, and how do you know if any of them actually work?

This is what the WCH ‘Detox & Wellbeing Study’ seeks to find out!

By selecting one of our the detoxes from the WCH ‘Detox and Wellbeing Companion Guide’ and recording your experience of trialling that detox, you can help corroborate their efficacy with hard data.

The guide includes: nutrition and supplement guidance, lifestyle tips, and suggested practices to help you embark on your detoxification journey empowered with the knowledge and tools you need to take control of your health.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I approach this study?

Read through the WCH Detox & Wellbeing Companion Guide and short-list the protocols that appeal and look manageable to you, then look at the cost and what is involved in order to make your final selection.

Which protocol should I choose?

Among other considerations, your choice may be influenced by what toxin/s you wish to detox from, the availability of supplements, or unwelcome health concerns you wish to address through a detox. Read through the booklet and short-list the protocols that appeal and look manageable to you, then look at the cost and what is involved in order to make your final selection

Do I have to take all the supplements in a chosen protocol?

No, you do not.

You will have the option to identify which ones you are taking in the drop-down menu on the study if you do not take the full suggested list.

It is advisable to read the protocol carefully to understand why certain supplements are being recommended, as this will impact the effectiveness of the intervention. You may also discuss this with your chosen healthcare practitioner.

Once you start, try to follow your chosen detox protocol as closely as possible for the best results.

You may wish to discuss your detox protocol with your chosen healthcare practitioner.

If the dosage amount is not specified, what should I do?

Refer to the package insert and recommendations accompanying the individual supplements, or consult your health care advisor.

How much does participation in the study cost?

It is free to create an account with the Control Group and track your health.

The digital WCH ‘Detox & Wellbeing Companion Guide‘ is £5.

The cost of resources can vary depending on the detox protocol you choose. Some protocols involve activities that are free, such as breathing exercises. Some involve ingredients and supplements which can be sourced for under £5 – such as ginger, vegetables, and Vitamin C. Other protocols include supplements and ingredients which can be more expensive and be harder to source, depending on where you live.

Whether or not you choose to do a WCH detox, creating a Control Group account is a great online tool to help you take control of you health!

Why do I have to pay for the WCH ‘Detox & Wellbeing Companion Guide’?

A huge amount of intellectual effort was invested in putting the guide together with ethical healthcare practitioners from around the world, as well as creating the platform to run the study. There are many additional costs associated with running the study such as data analysis, project management, marketing and human resources.

The team at the World Council for Health (WCH) is transparent in our operations. WCH is an initiative managed through EbMCsquared CIC, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. It means 100% of profits after tax are reinvested into the business or to the advancement of our mission. We are totally free from corporate interests.

Who is the study for?

Anyone 18-years and older wanting to take control of their health.

I am currently taking pharmaceutical medications. What can I do?

You need to consult your trusted healthcare practitioner. There are a range of protocols from a simple smoothie to comprehensive detox approaches using nutrition, advice, supplements and other practices. Try something simple like a smoothie, breathing exercises, or vitamin C supplementation if you or your practitioner feel anything more could interfere with your medication schedule.

Remember, this study is about helping you get healthy again, as much as it is about discovering what may help others!

I have been vaccine-injured. Can I participate in this study?

Yes, you may, however please consult a trusted healthcare advisor before doing so, and make sure you start your detox ‘low and slow’ and in consultation with your trusted healthcare advisor.

Begin by taking low dosages of the supplement recommended in your detox and increased them slowly over time in case you react negatively to it.

Bigger is not always better! It is quite common for a person to react quickly to a supplement, even at a low dose. Introducing one supplement type or health practise at a time can help you identify any negative or positive effects before deciding to increase the dose or introduce another element of the detox into your health routine.

It is important to note that most of these detoxes are designed to help prevent disease and not necessarily to heal people who are already injured.

Visit our Vaccine Injury page for details of support groups.

How long should I follow this protocol?

It takes a minimum of 4 weeks to see a real impact, so we are asking participants to follow for at least 4 weeks (and continue reporting for 8 weeks) unless the chosen protocol recommends a specific period of time.

To get more robust data for the study, and to potentially see more robust results amongst the participants, we encourage you to extend participation till 8 weeks.

You may opt out should you need to do so at any point in the study. There is a special section to complete online to let us know.

I don’t currently have symptoms or feel unwell. Should I still do the study?

The study enquires about general wellbeing before, during and after participation.

You may feel benefits you did not anticipate until doing the study, or you also may feel particularly attracted to a protocol because of familial or environmental conditions that encourage preventative measures.

I have felt a bit unwell since starting my protocol. Is this normal?

When you detox, if you do have a lot of accumulated toxins in the body, and the body sees an opportunity to do the spring cleaning, it will release these toxins into the blood stream and lymph and they will find their way out of the body through the main organs of elimination: the liver, kidneys, skin, lungs, and bowels.

This may cause a passing fatigue, nausea or headaches, or even altered bowel movements in the first few days or week. This is called a Herxheimer reaction. If in doubt, call your healthcare practitioner to double check. Many people do not experience this.

If in doubt, call your healthcare practitioner or stop the detox protocol.

How do you measure wellbeing?

In the study we are using this wellbeing scoring sheet which reflects good health:

What will you do with my data?

Data provided by contributors to the WCH detox study will be anonymised and shared with researchers from the World Council for Health for their own analysis and reports.

Your data is stored with the Control Group who use the anonymised health data of over 40,000 people across the world to provide insights into broader health trends affecting people in the modern era.

This is as part of the Control Group’s independent, unbiased health research.

Your identity data is never sold or passed onto third-parties.

Who is the study funded by?

The Control Group Cooperative, EbMCsquared CIC (the management company of WCH) and public donations. Your £5 contribution for the WCH ‘Detox & Wellbeing Companion Guide’ goes towards this.

I’m uncertain about when and how to take the supplements?

When uncertain, please refer to the supplement’s label or leaflet, or ask your trusted healthcare practitioner. Please also refer to the video guidance specific to your chosen protocol for additional information.

Can I invite a friend or family member to join?

Please feel free to share the link to this study.

I would like to stop the study early, what shall I do?

In order for us to produce the most accurate report on the effectiveness of the detoxes featured in this survey, we need to understand how it affects you for a full 8 weeks – even if you stop taking the products sooner than this, because the effects can continue beyond this time frame.

If you want to stop reporting, there is a button at the top right of the weekly survey which reads, ‘END DETOX EARLY’.

Please select your reason for ending early.

How often do I need to report back on the system?

Once a week for eight weeks.

You will then be sent a ‘feedback’ request one month after your last survey. This enables you to report on the lasting impact of your chosen detox, and your thoughts about the programme.

I have lost my login details. How do I get back into my account?

Please email support@controlgroup.coop and the Control Group support team will be happy to help you log back in.

My question is not answered in these FAQ’s, who do I need to contact?

info@ebmcsquared.org for all survey, medical, detox and wellbeing questions.

support@controlgroup.coop for all technical and system questions.

I would like to do a heavy metals detox, which would be the best Protocol for me to follow?

WCH – British Isles, and, WCH – Malta.

Information about completing your Control Group health records

The important sections in you Control Group Health Record that will be used in the WCH reports are: Health Conditions, Vaccinations and Medications & Supplements – however, the more information you complete, the better picture the Control Group and WCH will have about your current health and health outcomes.

Health Conditions: you can enter any previous health conditions that may still affect you now, or in the future, for example, previous cancers that are now in remission or heart problems, as well as any health conditions and/or symptoms you currently suffer from. For older health conditions, an approximate start date is fine. You can also tell us if your condition improves or resolves.

Vaccinations: we understand that most people do not know what vaccines they have had, so we have a useful entry called ‘Childhood vaccinations’, that tell us you have previously had some vaccines, even if you don’t know which ones. You can tell us about any other vaccines you recall having. We do not need exact dates for historical vaccines, just an estimated year and month will be fine.

Medications & Supplements: please enter any pharmaceuticals and other supplements you are taking. When you complete the WCH survey, your chosen detox will be added here, but if you are taking extra supplements/products alongside this, you can also add them and we will be able to report on them.
